The symbol of devotion

Once upon a time there was a saint lived in Madura. He is a poet and musician. His name is Surdas and a Krishna’s devotee. His composition songs are dedicated to Sri Krishna. Saint Surdas cannot see the material world. Because he was a blind man. He lived in 15th century. He composed more than 8000 songs All his songs are ocean of melody and all his songs are in Hindi language. When child’s father or mother reading this story, the child may ask him a cross question: “pappa,” you said he was a blind man then how he wrote 8000 songs? Reply to the child: There was a young man named Sham, he helped him to write all of his songs. Liston! Surdas is an important personality in Indian history. He is a great legendary saint. But his life history is unknown yet some authentic people said that he born in 1478 and diaded1570. (i.e., 92 Years) His birth place is a village in Madura. He was an abandoned child by his family because he lost his parents. He left his home when he was six years old and lived in a Sri Krishna’s temple, and having his food from a temple priest. He developed Sri Krishna Bhakti from his young age and his composed songs are jaunty rhythmic and fine melody poetic music with deep devotion on Sri Krishna, attracted much in praise. He became famous and his fame spread country wide. The philosophy of Surdas' work is a reflection of the times. He was very much immersed in the Bhakti movement that was sweeping India. His spiritual empowered movement was very strong with a massive group. There was an incident which is said, once Surdas fell in the well and he called Sri Krishna for his protection, Sri Krishna, ran rescued him safely and brought him out of the well. The saint is a greatest man of devotion and creator of devotional songs on Sri Krishna. One day he was pleading to the Lord Krishna that, Hey Lord! by this blind man, cannot see you, I am very much wish to see you, but what to do, and how could I see you? at the time, he heard a voice from the sky and said: O Surdas! I have bestowed vision, now you can see me. As soon he heard the word of the voice, he raised his head and saw. What a wonder! incredible darshan. With magnificent limbs, makarakundalams in his ears, chains of emerald beads, and parijata flowers garlands around his neck, pattu peetambara on his waist, holding Shanka Chakra Gatha Abaya Hasthas on his four hands, as he gave darshan with smile on his face. He had dharshan Lord Sri Krishna as how he described, in all his songs. He over whelmed, and had his darshan from head to toe again and again many times did pradhakshanam many times and said “O prabo no one is describable in this world about your merciful nature, you bestowed me a vision to see you, prabo you have completed me and I realized, my ultimate goal, when I am alive, and I am completely satisfied. after I had your sampoorna dharshan (Complete) I do not wish to see anything more in this world, and he said please take back my vision. God said “O Surdas, you circumambulated me, many time which is equal to have circumambulate the earth many times, and all your songs will become famous and whoever sings your compositional songs they will also be close with me, as he blessed Surdas and disappeared. Sardis’s composition about Sri Krishna Leela, that it is famous devotional and melody ocean. it is lifted height the literary value, and which is translated in many Indian languages. Bhakti is a device to rescue from difficulties to a mankind. So, children! always be worship lord Krishna and He will keep you ever joyful in this world.

A sage lived with his family in a forest. The sage’s name is Jamadhagni, his wife’s name is Vasuki and he had four sons. The fourth son’s name is Parasurama. Sage Jamadhagni used to teach Vedas and Sastras to a number of disciples. All the children will stay there and study in that Gurukulam.
